Thinking ahead at the American Indian Council of Architects & Engineers 2015 Spring conference.
May 13, 2015
This year, the American Indian Council of Architects & Engineers spring conference was held in the Twin Cities here in Minnesota. Our host was the Mystic Lake Casino & Hotel and as always, they provided an excellent venue & service. The Shakopee Business Council was gracious enough to allow us to take a tour of the ‘back-of-house” at the Mystic Lake Casino. The amount of space below and adjacent to a casino operation this size is pretty amazing. We also toured the American Indian Corridor along Franklin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. It was very encouraging to see how a Urban Indian community is working to improve their community. JohnPaul Jones was given our 1st annual award to an AICAE member, recognizing his efforts as a long standing member of the AICAE and his embodiment of the AICAE mission. Presentation by the UNM AICAE student chapter shows how passionate the next generation of young Native Architects really are. Already looking forward to next year.
